We were up nice and early to head into New York with Dermot’s parents – to meet Katie’s parents for lunch. Dermot and Katie agreed that the parents should meet since their children were to be circumnavigating the globe together for the next year.
We all found parking spots on Lexington Ave and 73rd St, and we headed in for our table for 6 at Payard Bistro. To our delight, we had lovely conversion and French cuisine, so long that Dermot and Katie had to feed the meters three times! We parted ways just before NY rush hour, and Dermot and Katie made their way to their next stop—ice skating!
Dermot’s god daughter and nephew were learning to ice skate up in Cheshire, CT, so we met Dermot’s sister Carolyn and the kids at the rink. They did an awesome job- and then we headed back to the house to hang out with JT (Dermot’s Bro-in-Law) and the twins, Matthew and Michael. Julia wrote us a welcome note all by herself which included a list of things we could do while at her house and pictures of us at the end of the note. Katie was a flower and Dermot was a pirate. It’s crazy how fast nieces/nephews grow up.
After putting the kids to bed (Katie read Julia a book and Dermot read Joey a book), we ended the evening by enjoying delicious home cooked chicken, brownies and Sweet Claude’s ice cream.
