We arrived in Runaway Bay, Jamaica courtesy of our free flight coupons from Air Jamaica. Last year we were bumped off our flight down to Jamaica and decided to use our free vouchers before they expired. After an hour long shuttle ride from the airport, we arrived at our hotel, the Gran Bahia Principie. We spent most of our time at the hotel lounging around the pool, tanning on the beach, playing tennis and enjoying the all-inclusive food and drinks. The hotel was huge and beautiful.
We also decided to play golf at Breezes Country Club one day. Katie had Cowboy for a caddie and Dermot had Devon. We both played well and enjoyed the course.
The most interesting and fun adventure we went on while in Jamaica was our trip to Nine Mile, the birthplace and final resting place of Bob Marley. We drove out to 9 mile and had a tour of Bob Marley’s old house. We got to pay our respects to Bob and learn what his life was like while he lived at Nine Mile. He was a farmer and more importantly a musician. It was great being able to pay our respects to such an important musical figure and great person.
We really enjoyed our trip to Jamaica and were sad to leave so soon, but we did realize that we’d soon be in Hawaii. . . .
