Since Katie was not a proper girl scout and didn’t pack the night before. Luckily, missing their bus to the airport worked out, and they simply returned their rental car at the airport. Once they landed in London, Katie went into the city to meet her mum and, Dermot continued onwards to Scotland.
It will be 240 hours of being apart, Katie and Dermot will have their own adventures, which of course we will highlight.
Katie and her mum met up with JRay (Katie’s old collegue from Google) for a drink, then Italian dinner to get ready for cooking school.
Dermot said goodbye to Katie in Gatwick Terminal and then headed up to departures for his flight to Scotland. Off in the northern part of the U.K….After a quick flight to Scotland, Dermot got settled at his humble abode for the next 4 days: St. Andrews Hostel. The closest restaurant was a Mexican place next door, so Dermot reluctantly ate Mexican food for his first meal in Scotland, followed by a pint of cask ale at the local pub to authenticate his first night in Scotland.
Day 61- 69: Katie learns to cook in Italy, while Dermot lives off porridge in St Andrews, Scotland
