We woke up at Glacier Camp, grabbed some continental breakfast (painstakingly prepared by Davey) and then dropped Dermot’s car off at Automotion to get the front brakes and rear wheel hub assembly done. Davey followed us there to give us a ride back. On the way back to the camp we picked up 50 lbs. of Buffalo Tenderloin for the wedding at Lower Valley Meat Processing Plant. The sign inside the plant store warned hunters to call before bringing in meat to make sure they had enough room in the freezer, so I think it’s safe to say that we would be eating fresh Buffalo at wedding. There was also a large pig statue named “Betty Lou” outside the plant (always a good sign). With meat in the trunk we had one more stop before returning to the camp: we needed to replenish the stock of Jameson we went through the night before.
After a quick lunch at Somer’s Bay with Liz and her husband, we returned to Glacier Camp for some canoeing and blobbing. It’s hard to describe what blobbing is and I feel the pictures do it better justice….Dermot on the left, Katie above the mountains on right…
It’s kind of like a trampoline in water, only better. I blobbed Katie who did not sit close enough the end of the blob, so she then returned the favor and re-blobbed me.After the water fun, Kate the great arrived. (and both Kate and Katie immediately took on the mentality of 5 year olds on sugar highs). We got dressed in our wedding attire and then headed up to the lodge for the wedding. The ceremony was nice with Lake Flathead providing a beautiful backdrop.
After successfully avoiding the rain…the reception we headed up to the lawn in front of the lodge for a cocktail hour and then up to the lodge for dinner. Our streak of good food continued as we dined on buffalo in a huckleberry sauce, mini reuben sandwiches, trout, salmon, tostadas and more…. Dancing then ensued on the deck of the lodge.
We found out that Kate the great does not feel comfortable dancing with anyone who is not a fighter pilot and that Dermot is comfortable dancing with men named Taylor. Lots of dancing and drinking and then we had to retire back to Log Cabin #2 for some much needed rest.
