Since it was Sunday, we decided it would be a good day to go to Knock. Knock is a church in Ireland where the Virgin Mary, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist appeared in 1879. It receives many Catholic pilgrims each year who go to the church to see where the saints appeared. We attended the anointing of the sick and a full mass and then toured around the area for a while before returning back home.
On the way home, we decided to stop in for dinner at Corner Bar. To our surprise they had American Football on television, so we got to watch the Detroit Lions play the Washington Redskins as we ate our Irish meals. After dinner we stopped in one of the fields to feed the cows. This was probably the closest we got to the cows all week. We actually got to pet them as they ate their feed. After arriving back up to the house, Dermot managed to break the key in the front door, so now they’ll have to use the back door to come in and out of the house until they get it fixed.
After our evening tea, we headed back down to Ballinagare to see Ultan’s new house that he just had built. He was trying to put in the floor in the front hallway, but it was too late in the night and he couldn’t seem to get the job done right so we all headed down to one of Dermot’s family friend’s house to catch up on some e-mailing, watch some English Premier League and play the Wii.
