Katie and Dermot were both out the door by 8:30am to tackle the day. Dermot and Will (Ginny’s husband) were off to play Virgina National Golf Club, and Katie was off to have her hair ‘pimped’ by one of the two Radiance Salons. Katie W and Katie B got plenty of decorations for the honeymoon suite (including a surprise on the Halloween aisle) and enjoyed our day with our calm, cool and collected bride.
While Katie was enjoying her time with the bride, Dermot and Will were enjoying their golf round that included good shots, bad shots and tequila shots. Which played into their 5.5 hour round, where they only were able to catch the second 1/2 of the ceremony….although they claim they saw us walk down the aisle….
After the beautiful “I Do’s,” we toasted with champagne (while still in the ceremony!) to the new husband and wife! After the ceremony, Brent and Katie worked on bustling Heather’s beautiful silk dress, by pinning together over 35 bustles– oye! After tasting the variety of flavors at the Mojito bar, the celebration was kicked off just right!
At table 9- we sat next to the newlyweds at the sweetheart table as we enjoyed a 6 course meal that was honestly one of the best wedding meals EVER. The DJ played perfectly matched music, including the Czech wedding tradition of the “Dollar Dance”– where the maid of honor (Katie W) collected money for the guests to dance with the bride. Katie’s mom very much enjoyed this part of the wedding, as she had the same tradition at her wedding, only 38 short years ago! After lots of dancing, Katie W giving an awesome MOH (maid of honor) speech, having three different pieces of wedding cake, and enjoying fantastic company and friends– we headed back to the Best Western, as Heather and Mo enjoyed their honey moon suite…. where Moses found the fake rat in their bed!
