We woke up at the Torello’s courtesy of Joey jumping on the bed (only because Uncle Dermot said he could do so). We got up and ate banana pancakes in the kitchen before Julia had to go to school. We did more work on the computer, finished some laundry and played with Joey. We were preparing for our big night with the Boss, so we downloaded Bruce Springsteen’s new album Magic.
After saying our goodbyes to Carolyn, Joey and the twins, we made way to Hartford, CT to see Katie’s friends the O’Briens. We made a pit stop at AAA for our International Driving Permits, Maps and other travel goodies.
At Carla’s, we looked like a call center with three laptops working, while we listened to the new Boss album on loop—about 5 times. Carla spoiled us with our last Mexican meal for a while—Chicken Fajitas, and we all headed out for the concert.
Thanks to John (from Toms River, NJ) who Katie found on a Bruce Fan website, we were able to get tickets to the sold out show—and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Dermot headed off to Hartford to meet up with his cousin John and brother-in-law JT who were also going to the show.
Carla, Jobby and Katie met Dermot at the seats about 40 minutes before Bruce came on (an hour and 15 minutes after the scheduled start time) People were *very* impressed that our 8 month pregnant diehard Bruce fan came as well! He played for 2+ hours — both new and old tunes…and we all still have Goosebumps!
