After our wonderful stay in Glacier National Park, we stopped at the Belton Chalet for a “Good Friends” breakfast. The owner of the Belton Chalet allows some workers to borrow the restaurant to serve breakfast. We had great breakfast burritos and got to meet some more of Sarah and Dave’s friends.
We picked up the car at Automation…said our goodbyes to Sarah, Dave and Doc and then headed toward Glacier Camp for Nate and Jeannie’s Wedding. (It turns out that Glacier Camp is a Presbyterian Bible Camp when it is not hosting weddings) We dropped off Erin for her wedding party duties (a booze cruise on the lake) and then headed to Flathead Lake Brewing Company to drink some beers and take advantage of the free wireless internet for some trip planning. We met the owner of the brewery who seemed very excited for us and our trip. He was a former navy pilot whose codename was “Psycho” and the entire brewery had a Navy theme to it. The White Cap Pale Ale was superb.
From the brewery we returned to Glacier Camp for the welcome barbeque. Later, we met up with the wedding party after their booze cruise. All seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. We then joined the wedding party for a little cocktail reception for everyone at Glacier Camp. We eventually made our way back down to the lodge that the groomsmen were staying at which was affectionately (and appropriately) called “Animal House”.
At Animal House a mean game of whiffle ball broke out which included hit batsmen, tackling, mound visits involving Jameson Irish Whiskey and lots of fun….. including the bride-to-be’s commentating on the game. Dermot managed to get a double at one at bat at almost gave the groom a black eye when he hit a line drive right at his head. We are not sure who won the game, but we definitely had a lot of fun. So much fun that it was time for bed after the game.
